DUCK TAPE® AROUND THE WORLD CONTEST

FOR EMERGENCY ROADSIDE REPAIR, DON'T FORGET THE DUCT TAPE

Are you prepared to make emergency repairs to your automobile if it breaks down on the highway? Every driver should be ready to temporarily fix their automobile by keeping some essential tools on hand during all travels. Emergency roadside repair kits should contain items such as jumper cables, flares, a flashlight, wrench and most importantly -- duct tape. Duct tape, the most versatile tool, can be used to fix everything from a hanging bumper to a broken hose, until proper repairs can be made.

Whether driving five miles to the grocery store or 500 miles to see family in another state, unexpected breakdowns and roadside emergencies are inevitable. Now, drivers can prepare themselves for these frustrating situations by carrying Duck® brand Duct Tape in the glove compartment or trunk of their car.

DUCK TAPE IS PERFECT FOR THE CAR

For Temporary Emergency Roadside Repair:

  • Temporarily repair tears in hoses and belts. Or, in a real emergency, construct a provisional fan belt.
  • Tape cracked windows and lights. If the damage is substantial, tape plastic over broken windows until fixed.
  • Hold up broken fenders, bumpers, and dragging mufflers.
  • Secure broken or loose wiper blades.
  • Make an emergency rope by layering the tape over itself.
  • Put X-Factor Duck Tape on windows to signal for help.
  • Tape shut glove compartment, doors, hood and trunk if latches break.
For Temporary Body and Interior Work:
  • Fix holes, tears and cracks in upholstery, arm rests, seat covers and dashboard padding.
  • Use Duck Tape to secure a sun visor that won't stay up.
  • Bind loose wires.
  • Fasten down floor mats to keep them from sliding.
  • Create a water-resistant patch.
  • Hide rust spots and holes.
  • Reinforce loose gas tank doors.
  • Reattach hood ornaments or loose license plates.
  • Hold interior and exterior mirrors in place.
For Road Trips:
  • Secure tarps and covers from flapping in the wind. Or, repair tears and holes to protect luggage and belongings underneath.
  • Tape a map to the dashboard for easy reference.
  • Seal coolers and casseroles to prevent leakage from melting ice or spilling food during transport.
Other Suggested Uses:
  • Bundle tools and flashlights together for safekeeping and easy location.
  • Strap a spare key somewhere on your car in case you get locked out.
  • Cover fingers with Duck Tape to create an extra layer of protection when dealing with hot hoses and parts. Or, protect cuts from grease and dirt.
  • Make a funnel to easily pour fluids such as oil or window cleaner.
